Johan & Dasha | Three Blue Ducks Wedding

When they met:

Johan: “We met for the first time on a bus ride from the city to the Hills, Johan sat in front of Dasha and must have made a great impression. He was in a relationship then, but, a couple of years later they were both single and reconnected at church.”

Dasha: “Yes we met on the bus. For some reason I developed a crush on him, and stalked him on facebook that week. Years later, I found myself in the same church and I remembered the crush I've had - excited and intrigued, I was determined to befriend him!”

When we met:

The first time I met Johan and Dasha we went out for late night smoothies after work in the city. They were the chattiest, loveliest and quirkiest pair. From the get go, they explained their plans and dreams for the wedding. From a Chinese tea ceremony, a big reception dinner, doing a mini first look, sneaking out only for 15 minutes of golden hour to maximise their time with friends and family. All of it. We chatted all things bouldering and where they went to church.

On the day:

Johan and Dasha had both their families over for a small Chinese ceremony to start the day. Afterwards the the girls and I hopped in my car together and drove through the heart of Bondi, only to realise we forgot the bouquets in the fridge! After a short 5 minute detour, we arrived at Bondi’s Ray O’Keef Reserve. We strolled there in the drizzling rain, praying that it would stay away, and it did. Johan gave the best reaction of a first look, fist pumping and throwing Dasha in the air. They’re cute ya’ll. We snapped a few bridal party photos and headed off to the Three Blue Ducks for their ceremony and reception. They laughed through out their ceremony, shed a tear or two, signed the papers and finally raced down the aisle through a golden confetti bomb. It was truly epic. The rest of the evening consisted of good food (thank you Three Blue Ducks), clinking glasses, hooray’s, personalised speech-dance-sing alongs and a whole lotta hugs.
